"I am a visual artist, singer, writer, theatre maker and puppeteer.
I make puppets because I am compelled by their ability to express the sublime and the grotesque. Puppetry can say the unsayable, explore unexpected places of beauty and disquiet.
As an artist I love the interplay between sculpted form, music, free association and psychological inference.
Puppetry is a precarious medium that invites risk and absurdity in equal parts. I think of my work as a theatre of performing objects.
Puppetry is visual poetry, a quiet song in the dark." - Rachael Guy
